Monthly Summary: December 2013

December was significantly colder than average in all three temperature markers. Three major arctic fronts passed through (4th, 19th, 29th). Snow cover is solid. It appears that the jet stream is dipping a little further south over north America than usual, while continental Europe is experiencing spring-like conditions. The cherry tree were blooming in Germany over Christmas.
