Snow
came late. Catastrophic flooding on the mid-run of the Mississippi river after
a strong wet/warm system crossed the country on the 23rd.
This
December is on average 8 F warmer than the last century’s average. While the
maximum temperature does lie in line with the long-term average maximum for December
(it was not “hot”), the minimum temperature is even 11 F above the long-term
average minimum for December.
In
other words: Never as cold as in the past, but lukewarm over longer periods.
