Monthly Summary: December 2015

 

Snow came late. Catastrophic flooding on the mid-run of the Mississippi river after a strong wet/warm system crossed the country on the 23rd.

This December is on average 8 F warmer than the last century’s average. While the maximum temperature does lie in line with the long-term average maximum for December (it was not “hot”), the minimum temperature is even 11 F above the long-term average minimum for December.

In other words: Never as cold as in the past, but lukewarm over longer periods.
